Chris Whaley has served as the Biopsychological Sciences (BPSB) Building Manager since September 2021. As BPSB Building Manager, Chris monitors, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs (or coordinates repairs of) all building systems and communal equipment. He also handles building access, oversees health and safety compliance, and coordinates shipping and receiving for building occupants.

Chris has been with the University of Chicago since 2010. Prior to joining IMB, Chris spent over eight years as a maintenance supervisor where he developed and implemented a preventative maintenance program for all cage wash and autoclave equipment for the ARC. In 2019, Chris was promoted to assistant manager of the North Campus Engineering Shop responsible for maintaining all science and research buildings on campus. Chris earned a MA from Ball State University and a MFA from Vermont College.
